WHO WE ARE

Incorporated in 1992, Sungai Harmoni Sdn. Bhd. (“SHSB”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taliworks Corporation Berhad. SHSB was appointed as the operator for Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (“SSP1”) in 1993 under the Concession agreement between Selangor State Government and Perangsang Water Management (“PWM”). With a combined nominal design capacity of 950 million litres per day, SSP1 is one of the biggest water treatment plants in Malaysia that currently supplies potable water to areas of Kuala Lumpur Utara, Petaling Jaya Utara, Klang, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor. Under the concession agreement between Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor (“SPLASH”) and Selangor State Government for Sungai Selangor Phase 3 Water Supply Scheme in 2000, SHSB was reappointed as the O&M Operator for SSP1 under SPLASH.

As part of the water restructuring exercise undertaken by the Selangor State Government to consolidate the water industry in the state, SHSB entered into the Bulk Water Supply Agreement in 2019 with Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn. Bhd. (“Air Selangor”). SHSB was awarded an Individual License pursuant to Section 9 of the Water Services Industry Act 2006 from the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (“SPAN”) as a condition to operate SSP1 water treatment plant.

In October 2000, the SSP1 Laboratory was conferred with the Seal of Accreditation (ISO/IEC Guide 25) by Department of Standards Malaysia under the National Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (“SAMM”). The SSP1 Laboratory was subsequently elevated to the ISO 17025 accreditation in October 2002 and later in 21 March 2003 SSP1 was conferred with MS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems – Requirements (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF WATER TREATMENT PLANT) accreditation.
